impaction : )
We have three set of molar teeth that help us to chew food. The third and further most molar in the mouth is the wisdom tooth. It usually erupts between the ages of 18 to 25years.
An "impacted" tooth refers to a tooth that has failed to emerge fully into its expected position. A primary cause of wisdom tooth impaction is simply that there is inadequate jawbone space behind the person's second molar. It could be partially impacted within gum and bone or fully impacted within the jaw bone. The impacted tooth could be removed under local or general anesthetic depending upon the case. Routinely, the impacted tooth is sectioned during surgery and then removed. Pre and post operative instructions if followed well, result in minor complications after surgery, if any.
