oral hygiene / gum maintenance : )

After the initial treatment of dental cleaning and prophylaxis and completion of all necessary dental treatments, our patients are encouraged and reinforced to maintain a healthy habit of at home dental care. Maintenance of good oral hygiene is vitally important for the health of the gums and overall health of the individual. Poor oral hygiene can result in gum diseases.

Common signs of gum diseases include

- bleeding

- red and swollen gums

- persistent bad breath

- receding gums

- increasing spaces between teeth

- one or more teeth becoming loose

- vague aching, itching or discomfort around the gums

For all our patients we maintain a regular oral hygiene recall and maintenance system after evaluating their dental hygiene and the need for compliance. We recommend brushing twice & flossing once daily.
